So you’re interested in exploring the competitive scene of LRAW and vying to carve a place for yourself on the podium, but how do you get there? What events do you need to participate in? Which events will let you climb the competitive ladder?
If you’re looking to compete in competitive LRAW, the first events you’ll be looking for are Siege Series events. These events are the qualifying events for LRAW and invitations will be provided to the top 8 or top 16, depending on the size of the event. These events will usually land around the 3k range so the prizing is generous for the top placements. Top placing players will also receive exclusive promos, and other prizing such as the Middiogin Majik Soldier card and play mat.
If you’ve obtained an invitation, you’ll be able to participate in the next Rally the Realms event. Currently, the next Rally the Realms event will be held in Niagara falls in 2024. Rally the Realms events are multi-day events where players will compete for prizing, including invitations to the final stage in competition:
The top placing competitors over Rally The Realms events will channel into the top level of the North American Championship. The first NA Championship has yet to be announced, but more details will be available in the future.
But how do you prepare for participating in these top level events?
One of the best places to practice is at campaign nights at your local game store. Atlas Collectables in Waterloo, Booster House at the Legion and Improbable Escapes: Wonderland in Kingston, and Nerdz Cafe in Woodstock all host weekly LRAW campaign nights, the times of which can be found here. These events will award campaign promos weekly, and these promo cards are great ways to power up your deck before tournaments.
If there isn’t a local game store hosting LRAW in your area, or you’re looking for more ways to compete, the discord-ran Legions League allows players to organize and complete games whenever available, with players receiving campaign promo cards at the end of the season. All you’ll need to compete in the league is a webcam setup viewing a playmat to represent your gamestate, and to sign up for the League.
In between your local weekly events and qualifier or invitation events, many stores hold other competitive events with prizing, but without awarding Rally the Realms invitations. Battle for Glory’s are the highest level events that players can enter for completely free, and are fantastic ways to practice competing in a tournament setting, and fight for prizing.
Other events such as Release Events or other special tournaments can come up periodically, and will be posted on the Snapshot Competitive Event Schedule, alongside BFG's, Siege Series, Rallies, and more!
Also make sure to check your local game store for new events. If your local game store doesn’t host LRAW events, ask them about the game and see if they’re interested in trying the game out, or providing a space for LRAW weekly events.
