With the previous SRL list update, and the release of Guardians' Creed, the meta has stayed in a healthy place, with a large variety of archetypes and decks, and especially new decks, all having the chance to fight and compete within the metagame.
As such, it makes sense to see a smaller SRL list, focusing on tuning the meta and adjusting some breakout new strategies rather than making sweeping changes. It'll be exciting to see how the meta continues to develop and evolve.
This list trims the top off some of the best lists post-GCD, and helps to adjust some player-favourite lists into the new metagame.
with Mal'ady's breakout performance, she's seen a couple of tuning hits in preparation of the upcoming Rally The Realms tournament.
Necro Gallows Of Everworld
A hit to both Undead Warlords, Necro Gallows is an incredibly flexible Fortified tutor. With the ability to grab a plethora of strong pieces out of both archetypes, it's a card that certainly has tons of current power, and the potential to become much scarier in the future. With the ability to grab Mal'ady's Putrid Mausoleum, it isn't too surprising to see this as one of the pieces being tuned down.
Putrid Eruption Bloom
One of Mal'ady's brand new engine pieces out of GCD, Putrid Eruption Bloom is one of the cards that helped to drag Mal'ady out of the bottom tiers, with more acceleration, and DCM recovery. Going to two is a knock against Mal'ady's recovery capabilities.
Putrid Acidic Rain
One of Mal'ady's older pieces, Putrid Acidic Rain is one of her main ways to generate Carrion Corpse Flower tokens to rack up decay triggers. Whilst this change isn't a huge hit to the deck, it's another adjustment to limit her options down and to potentially reduce her lethality.
Putrid Infestation Sentinel, Horrix
The final piece being adjusted, and another of her strong GCD engine additions, Horrix is a powerful draw engine with Mal'ady's variety of ways to bring it back out of eradication, whether through revival, or by moving it back into the discard pile directly. None of these adjustments should be particularly backbreaking for Mal'ady, but all help to keep her control power in line with the rest of the metagame as we move into RTR.
We can also see a few new additions to the SRL list to hit some new top performers.
Escape From Explosion Mountain
Blastforge has evidently made enough of a splash to warrant a slight touch to Escape From Explosion Mountain. Escape may not be the more explosive or powerhouse piece in the deck, but as a bounce card that can bounce any card, Escape is a card which only gets better with so many cards. Windenmere Island is the most common, as an incredibly strong revival piece which has long been key for Quartzheart in both Blastforge and Frost Tempo. This change shouldn't hurt Blastforge too much by itself, as it doesn't directly hurt the engine of the list, but it may reduce it's kill power or it's ability to find the reach necessary to end the game.
Secret Savanna
A utility piece which has only recently seen more play, Secret Savanna has found strength in lists which can make use of the ability to easily find a selection of bounty backline pieces and get value from cleaning their own Warriors off of the board. Both Blastforge Aggro and Gaia Control were strong homes for Savanna, with the card also seeing experimentation with other warlords and cards, such as in combination with Fandorian Darkwood Dryad, Fulillia.
On the other end of things, Demons have finally gotten the leash loosened after a period of absence.
Fallen Inferno
One of two returning draw pieces, Fallen Inferno has come back to three copies for Onoskelis as a way to dig 3 cards deep through your deck. Fallen Inferno is a strong dig tool, but has a limited ability when discarded, and requires your discard engine pieces to truly find value. Inferno is a welcome return for Onoskelis, as a piece that shouldn't be too scary.
Fallen Fervor
On the other hand, whilst Fervor is only picking back up a single copy, it's a piece that may be more key than Inferno with it's on-discard effect being a key way for Fallen to dig through their deck and break parity on looting effects. These two additions should push Onoskelis into a better position to compete against several other stronger control deck.
Black Magic Mind Tremors
A previous tournament tyrant, which has been put on the back-burner, Adramelech Black Magic Combo remains a powerful deck with some fun additions out of Guardian's Creed. Black Magic Mind Tremors has 3 key abilities for the deck with a powerful erad ability to chain your eradication effects, the ability to destroy problematic hate pieces like Concrete Catacombs or Majik Void Collapse, and an extra conscription for additional flexibility.
Adramalech has been lurking in the background for a while, and with Black Magic Mind Tremors back to two, this may be a great time to pick up the deck
Last but not least, a few other strong decks are picking back up some solid additional pieces.
Outer Rim Exclusion Zone
Exclusion Zone was pushed back to two copies a few SRL lists ago, but was knocked back down at a later point. With GCD out and about however, the metagame looks much different for Sharn, with two imposing hurdles to compete with at the top. Outer Rim Exclusion Zone should help to give Sharn a little more consistent power compete with the top control decks in the meta.
Prysm, Soul-Collector Of The Grimm
A small change to Grimm Midrange, Prysm is an alright trade-off for Mortis with losing a copy of Necro Gallows.
Between these two changes, I don't anticipate Mortis having any particularly notable meta changes/movements as a result.
Feathers In The Wind
Another small adjustment, Feathers In The Wind provides Mythic Beasts even more draw power, as well as utility removal piece to deal with sticky threats.
Both Sh'lara and Merrisod have been consistently solid in the metagame, and this does help to provide even more incentive for players to try their chance with the Mythical Realm.
