As the metagame begins to settle down, let's check out the most recent SRL list update, and the changes made to keep a certain archetype reigned in.
Bounty Majik archetypal decks have seen a rising uptick in the metagame recently, with the latest variation taking advantage of the combination of Legendary Majik Mask - Many Faces and Kessler, The Void Walker Warlock. In this SRL list we can see an explicit targeting of this archetype with it's incredibly consistent ability to lock decks down on turn one.
A consistent metagame piece in decks looking to make use of a key Bounty Fortified, or to enable Warrior perish abilities, Secret Savanna has finally been cut down in the metagame.
It's certainly a card that I'll miss, but I think the hit will have a positive impact in pushing archetypes towards more unique per-Legion tools, and reducing the strength of and reliance on Bounty control packages.
Arguably the weakest card in this list, but an important hit, Kessler, The Void Walker Warlock saw a rise out of obscurity with Legendary Majik Mask - Many Faces as an incredibly difficult to stop enabler for his Perish ability.
Gone But Never Forgotten and Mal'ady's Putrid Mausoleum were previously the most consistent enablers for Kessler but the ability of Many Faces to destroy Kessler during the Reinforce Phase makes it nearly impossible to stop, which has led to the card's current Suspension.
The only card here to keep a single copy, Path To Middiogin Majik has long been the stronger half to the combo with Majik Wishing Well. While the other is a powerful draw engine, Path is just an incredibly consistent enabler for the archetype.
The part that I believe pushes this over the line has been the expansion of the Majik Mask archetype, and specifically Majik Mask - Faceless Smiles. The ability for Path To Middiogin Majik to setup 5 Majik Mask cards, including Faceless Smiles and the new Majik Mask Monstrosity, Malediction is just too much consistency to pair with the powerful new pieces in the archetype.
